If you mean by salient, "of notable significance" I assure you this is notable and significant. It goes to the idea that the general population is so strapped for cash that they cannot even claim the remains of family members from the morgue. How desperate have we become!? That's significant. But not to worry, the Tradingology Crew is excited to bring you the very best and most salient news that is not being beaten to death by the majority of blogs that cover personal economic and trading news.

I expect something a bit more salient than a discussion of unclaimed bodies from the Tradingology crew.
What about the crazy health care scam, the global warming scam and how these 2 scams have the potential to upend markets and sink our prospects for future economic prosperity.

The link for the whole story doesn't work, but I've heard that some people are leaving bodies unclaimed in the same way people are now walking away from mortgages even though they may be able to pay for them, i.e, just a way to save money in a tough economy. They know the state will take care of it so they just abdicate their moral responsibility. It's sad that the economy is so bad that it does that to people, and it's also sad that people fall to that level of behavior and give up their honor in the process. Breakdowns in societies occur from the top down, and also from the bottom up in response. We should all be worried about this, and you're right, CNBC won't take on this kind of issue in the way it deserves. Maybe PBS will since they are not so ratings driven. This is one of those things that people just don't want to hear, and commercial TV won't take those.

Hello Dave,

I have read that there is a similar situation in Michigan, and I believe the article stated the economy has been so bad in parts of Michigan that some bodies have remained unclaimed for more than a year. It is very saddening and truly breaks my heart. You are correct, there is absolutely no way to spin that kind of negative information. God bless!
