They know the state will take care of it so they just abdicate their moral responsibility. It's sad that the economy is so bad that it does that to people, and it's also sad that people fall to that level of behavior and give up their honor in the process. Breakdowns in societies occur from the top down, and also from the bottom up in response. We should all be worried about this, and you're right, CNBC won't take on this kind of issue in the way it deserves. Maybe PBS will since they are not so ratings driven. This is one of those things that people just don't want to hear, and commercial TV won't take those.
