Market Review and Commentary for September 25, 2008

Well, surprise! The President did a reasonably good job of explaining why this bail out is necessary, the history of it and the consequences if it isn’t done.

I think it’s the first speech I’ve ever seen of the President that he didn’t say “Umm” and “uhh” about a dozen times. He even seemed confident and relaxed.

That confidence spilled over into the markets which rallied today. Now, if we can only get a follow-through!

I bought UNG today. I believe we will get a strong rally in natural gas. I also bought the XLF – the financial sector ETF.

It’s too early to tell if this is the beginning of a move up, but I have been watching stocks every day and the ‘character’ of the market seems to be changing… we’ll see if it’s a bullish soon enough.
